The Business of Being Green

Hunting through the archives at Information Age magazine, I came across the following quote from Richard Barrington, head of corporate affairs and public policy at Sun Microsystems UK and Ireland, which was uttered at the Effective IT 2007 Summit.

On the the so-called greening of IT he stated:

"We only do this for two reasons: we do it because it saves us money or it makes us money. We’re not doing it because it’s ‘green’; that’s up to our shareholders. Our job is to run a business successfully."

Well that's candour. Your can read a summary of the rest of the Green IT discussion here, along with further opinion from other delegates to the summit / conference.
